Tiny Twinkles Room

This room is for the youngest children at the nursery. It caters for babies from 6 weeks to 2 yrs.

This area has been carefully planned to provide all the equipment and furniture that a young baby needs. A sleeping area with high quality cots and sleeping equipment is adjoined to this area.

 As the babies grow and develop and become more active the room can be easily partitioned to suit the needs of the mini-explorers!

Babies and young children will follow a familiar daily routine that includes busy times, meal times and resting times. A kitchen to prepare milk and foods for weaning is also connected to this room. 

Zoom Room

This large room is for the ‘developing child’ it caters for children from 2 years to 3 years. The area has equipment to support children’s inquisitive minds and become involved in the fun of discovery.

The room has both carpet and lino flooring to enable children to experience a wide variety of activities that includes: sensory experiences, messy activities, imaginative play, construction equipment and so much more.

Galaxy Room 

This room is for the older children at Little Stars. It provides a wider range of equipment and learning opportunities to support the growing mind. This area is carefully planned with the support of a Qualified Teacher to help children progress towards school. The rich environment supports the needs of the little learners and develops growing independence.

Booking a place

We operate a waiting list. Places for Little Stars Nursery are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Little Stars Nursery

Little Stars Nursery is for children aged 6 weeks  to 5 years.

The nursery is part of Great Barr & Hamstead Children’s Centre.

The Centre provides many helpful services for families and children in the Hamstead and Great Barr area. For more details about the services we provide please contact the centre Manager  - Mr S Bedi

Outdoor Space

Children attending Little Stars Nursery will learn and play both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor space is safe and secure to enable children to explore the outdoor world. We have a range of high quality outdoor equipment for all ages and abilities. The children will also have opportunities to share the schools grounds and go out on organized trips/visits with parental consent.

Meals

The school meals provider ’Fresco’ will freshly prepare and provide the food for little stars nursery.

Full day care meals will include:

• Breakfast
• Lunch
• Tea
• Mid morning and afternoon snacks
• Drinks throughout the day

All children are seated for mealtimes and are encouraged to develop good table manners. The children will be encouraged to eat healthily.

Opening Hours & Times

Little Stars Day Nursery is open 50 weeks a year.

It is open 5 days a week from 7:30am until 6:00pm excluding bank holidays.

• Spring Bank Holiday
• August Bank Holiday
• Christmas Day
• Boxing Day
• New Years Day
  
  The centre will be closed over the Christmas period. Dates will be arranged annually.

Staffing

All staff working with the children at Little Stars are police checked and are qualified to meet with the standards required by Ofsted.

The staff ratios are:

1 : 3 for children aged 2yrs and under

1 : 4 for children 2yrs to 3yrs

1: 8 for children 3yrs and above

Staff at Little Stars are warm, caring people. They are professional and have your child's individual needs and interests at heart.
